The National Center for Water Quality Research (NCWQR) is a leader in surface and groundwater research in the Great Lakes region and the U.S. Our state-of-the-art facilities, allow us to perform the highest quality chemical analysis of water samples, including drinking water. The NCWQR supports sustainable use of our nation's water resources and protection of human health. We maintain the largest tributary nutrients and other chemicals loading database in the U.S., which enhances scientific collaboration to formulate new ideas about the status of water quality, its effects on human health and the integrity of watershed ecosystems.  These databases, on nonpoint source pollution of streams and groundwater wells across the nation have been used by the USDA, USGS, U.S. EPA, and universities worldwide for exposure and risk assessment.
